I absolutely love bloopers.
When I fail at a new trick and the fall is epic, I miiight even be more excited than if I landed the trick… or maybe it’s a close tie… I honestly don’t even know. 😂
Why though?
Because aerial should be fun!
Life is challenging enough already, and aerial is my happy place. So even when I’m failing, I’m still happy. I’m learning, getting stronger, playing, and flying around in the air.
I used to be very concerned with presenting the best version of myself all the time. But if you do that long enough, you end up putting immense pressure on yourself that doesn’t actually add value to your life, especially for a hobby.
Don’t get me wrong, I still film until I get the perfect shot and edit my videos until they’re as pretty as possible. But now I also take pride in accidentally creating the funniest bloopers.
I have so much fun laughing at myself during training that I want to share that joy with the world. Plus, when you’re training high-intensity aerial tricks, it’s unrealistic to expect yourself to get everything on the first try all the time. 😂 So let’s be human together.
I like that my videos reflect reality and make people laugh. If you’ve taken a class with me, you probably know I’m the first one to laugh at myself… and at my friends too… but only because I’m also their biggest cheerleader when they succeed AND when they fail spectacularly.
(At least I hope they know that. 🙈😂 If you thought I was being mean, I promise I just genuinely find fails funny.)
